Another
magnificent plant is the Flame of the Forest.
Consistently voted among the top 5 most
beautiful flowering trees in the world. It is
awarded the name "Royal Poinciana". The tree was
named for an 18th century governor of the French
West Indies, M. de Poinci. A native of
Madagascar is a tropical legume with many
attributes. One of which, the plant is
deciduous in winter allowing sun to penetrate in
months.
Even
lawn grasses grow well underneath the tree.
Allowing a beautiful lawn yet unspoilt by the
presence of an equally gorgeous tree within.

Caribbean Islands the pods are used for fuel.
The pods are
sometimes called "woman's tongue" fuelled by the
rattling noise they make when the wind blows
