 Wild Flower of Malaysian roadside

Species :- Trimegia martinicensis

Local names:- Forenoon Yellow Flag

 

 

This plant is found on almost all cooling spots of road curbs. More prominent in hill slopes seldom used by man or cows.

 Its is found in lowlands as well as highlands. Very low plant about 60 cm tall  unobtrusive. Their availability depends of the environment. If conducive, may get so dense that it the morning a subtle carpet of yellow flowers. Unfortunately, most times even in the cool morning, the buds remains as a blob. Flowers only open for a short time.

 

By noon the heat is too hot, the flower will close and the once significant yellow dots by the kerb will disappear.

 It is such a minute plant with a yellow dot most noticeable at fore noon
