Clerodendron is the largest group
of plant about 500 species and varieties
within the Verbenaceae family.
Kleros in
greek menaing :"chance" or "destiny"
while dendron -trees. This plant is
actually a scrub
but
behave like a creeper. That is because
its woody stem is not firm enough to
support its flowering crown. Used to be
widespread in household perimeter
fencings. Now it very seldom seen.
The leaves of the
plant can used for treatment of diabetic illness.
Now I also read that
that Plant is poisonous if
ingested. That contradict the earlier line, but I suppose
both statements made following different
preparation or precaution.
The
plant
is best
propagated by any type of cuttings or seeds. Say, in a mixture of
moist peat and perlite.
